3. Configuration
3.1 Overview
The controller is pre-configured at the factory for typical controller settings for a
heating process except the input type and output algorithm must be configured to
match your process. The controller must also be tuned. See subsection 4.12.
To assist you in the configuration process, there are prompts that appear in the
upper and lower displays. These prompts let you know what group of configuration
data (Set Up prompts) you are working with and also, the specific parameters
(Function prompts) associated with each group.
Figure 3-1 shows you an overview of the prompt hierarchy. As you will see, the
configuration data is divided into 12 main Set Up groups plus prompts for calibration
and prompts that show the status of the continuous background tests that are being
performed.
