Configuring S.M.A.R.T. Testing
You can set up the hard disk drive to perform a series of self-tests using S.M.A.R.T.
(Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) to determine the overall health of the
HDD and identify potential issues.
To set up a S.M.A.R.T test:
1. Go to Menu > HDD > HDD Detect > S.M.A.R.T. Settings.
2. Select the HDD you want to test from the HDD drop-down list.
3. To continue using the HDD even it fails the self-test, select the Continue to use this disk
when self-evaluation is failed check box.
4. In the Self-test Type list, select one of the following options:
•Short Test
•Expanded Test
•Conveyance Test
5. Click the S.M.A.R.T. button to start the test. The test results are displayed under
S.M.A.R.T. Information.
