Special Conditions of Safe Use
In order to comply with the ATEX Certification, the following special
conditions of safe use must be adhered to:
1. The integral supply cables must be mechanically protected from
impact and must be terminated in a suitable terminal or junction
facility.
2. For replacement purposes the cover fixing screws shall be stain-
less steel grade A480 minimum (only use Honeywell supplied
screws).
3. Optical power through the Searchpoint Optima Plus is to be
limited to a radiated power of less than 25 mW and a peak power
density of less than 5 mW/mm2 as defined by EN 6007928.
Quick Start Guide
Searchpoint Optima Plus is an infrared hydrocarbon gas detector suitable for use in hazardous areas. It has
worldwide certification approvals including IECEx, ATEX and UL.
It uses the principle of infrared absorption to detect hydrocarbon gases and vapours in various concentration
ranges.
Searchpoint Optima Plus has a robust stainless steel enclosure with an ingress protection level of IP66 and IP67.
Depending on the certification option, it has an M25 or ¾ NPT mounting thread.
Searchpoint Optima Plus has a 420 mA signal output that corresponds to 0100 %FSD. Output values below
4 mA indicate fault, warning and inhibit.
Searchpoint Optima Plus is supplied calibrated and linearised for a specific target gas. This information can be
found on the calibration certificate which accompanies the product.

Searchpoint Optima Plus est un détecteur de gaz hydrocarbure infrarouge conçu pour être utilisé en zone
dangereuse. Il a reçu les certifications internationales IECEx, ATEX et UL.
Il utilise le principe de l’absorption des infrarouges pour détecter les gaz et vapeurs hydrocarbures, à différents
niveaux de concentration.
Searchpoint Optima Plus est doté d’un boîtier en acier inoxydable robuste avec un niveau de protection contre
les infiltrations IP66 et IP67. Suivant l’option de certification, il possède un filetage de montage M25 ou ¾ NPT.
Searchpoint Optima Plus se caractérise par une sortie de signal de 4 à 20 mA, ce qui correspond à 0 à 100 %
DPE. Les valeurs de sortie inférieures à 4 mA indiquent une défaillance, un avertissement et une désactivation.
Le Searchpoint Optima Plus est fourni étalonné et linéarisé pour un gaz cible spécifique. Ces informations sont
