The ONE PWR Dual Bay Charger is designed to efficiently and safely charge ONE PWR batteries. It features two independent charging bays, allowing users to charge two batteries at once, which can be particularly useful for tools that require multiple batteries or for users who need a quick turnaround for their power sources. The charger is equipped with LED indicators for each bay to communicate the charging status of the inserted batteries, providing clear visual feedback to the user. It also incorporates safety features to protect against overcharging, overheating, and short circuits, ensuring the longevity of both the batteries and the charger itself. The device is designed for indoor use and should be kept away from moisture and extreme temperatures.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual provides a table of compatible battery packs and their corresponding model numbers, indicating the range of batteries that can be charged with this device. While specific voltage or amperage outputs for the charger are not explicitly detailed in the provided snippets, the compatibility list implies a standardized charging protocol for the ONE PWR battery ecosystem.

Compatible Battery Packs:

Battery Model #
2.0 Ah BH15020
3.0 Ah BH15030
4.0 Ah BH15040
5.0 Ah BH15050
6.0 Ah BH15060
8.0 Ah MAX BH15280
10.0 Ah MAX BH15210

The charger operates on standard household electrical power, as indicated by the requirement to plug it into a wall outlet. The power cord is a critical component, and users are warned against using damaged cords. The device is designed to operate within a specific temperature range, typically between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C), for optimal performance and safety.

Usage Features

The charger is designed for ease of use with clear visual indicators and straightforward operation.

Charging Process:

  1. Placement: Place the charger on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the charger.
  2. Power Connection: Plug the charger's power cord into a standard 120-volt AC wall outlet. The charger performs a self-test upon power-up, and the LED indicators will briefly illuminate.
  3. Battery Insertion: Slide a ONE PWR battery pack into one of the charging bays. Ensure the battery is fully seated in the bay. The charger will automatically detect the battery and begin the charging process.
  4. LED Indicators: The LED indicator for the respective bay will illuminate to show the charging status:
    • Red LED ON: Indicates that the battery is charging.
    • Green LED ON: Indicates that the battery is fully charged.
    • Red LED Flashing: Indicates a fault condition, such as a defective battery or an issue with the charging process.
    • Green LED Flashing: Indicates that the battery is too hot or too cold to charge immediately. The charger will wait until the battery reaches an acceptable temperature before beginning to charge.
  5. Charging Time: Charging times vary depending on the battery capacity and its state of charge. The manual advises that a fully discharged 2.0 Ah battery typically takes approximately 30 minutes to reach full charge. Larger capacity batteries will take longer.
  6. Removal: Once the battery is fully charged (Green LED ON), remove it from the charging bay. The charger will automatically stop charging to prevent overcharging.

Operational Modes and LED Indications:

Mode Battery Pack Red LED on Charger White LED on Charger Action Needed
POWER Without battery pack Off On for 3 seconds Ready to charge battery pack
Off Off No action needed, normal operation
CHARGING ONE PWR Battery Pack On Off Battery is charging
DEFECTIVE Defective Flashing Off When battery pack is defective
DETECTING If, after 1.0 second, the charger detects a condition too hot or too cold to charge, the LED flashes green. Off Flashing When battery pack is too hot or too cold to charge
FULLY CHARGED Charged Off On Battery is fully charged

Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes several critical safety warnings:

  • Risk of Fire and Electric Shock: Do not expose the charger to rain or wet conditions. Do not use it if the power cord or charger itself is damaged.
  • Indoor Use Only: The charger is designed for indoor use only.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the charger during operation. Do not cover the charger.
  • Battery Compatibility: Only charge ONE PWR batteries with this charger. Attempting to charge other battery types may result in personal injury or damage to the charger and battery.
  • Damaged Batteries: Do not charge damaged batteries. If a battery is leaking, deformed, or shows signs of damage, do not attempt to charge it.
  • Temperature: Do not operate the charger in extreme temperatures.
  • Children: Keep the charger and batteries out of reach of children.
  • Maintenance: Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the charger yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel for any repairs.

Maintenance Features

The manual provides guidelines for maintaining the charger to ensure its longevity and safe operation.

General Maintenance:

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from the power outlet before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior of the charger. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the charger.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the charger in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, such as cuts, fraying, or exposed wires. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified technician to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Ventilation Ports: Ensure that the ventilation ports on the charger are kept clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.

Troubleshooting: The LED indicators serve as primary troubleshooting tools. If a red LED flashes, it indicates a fault condition, such as a defective battery. A flashing green LED indicates a temperature issue, where the battery is either too hot or too cold to charge. In such cases, the user should allow the battery to reach room temperature before attempting to charge it again. If the issue persists, the battery or charger may be defective and should be inspected by a qualified service center.

Warranty Information: The manual includes detailed warranty information, emphasizing that the warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for a specified period (typically three years for ONE PWR products). It outlines the conditions under which the warranty is valid, what it covers, and how to make a warranty claim. The warranty typically excludes damage caused by misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, unauthorized repairs, or use with non-ONE PWR accessories. This highlights the importance of proper usage and maintenance as described in the manual to ensure warranty coverage.
