Heartbeat LED
The heartbeat LED indicates that the formatter is functioning correctly. While the product is initializing
after you turn it on, the LED blinks rapidly, and then turns off. When the product has finished the
initialization sequence, the heartbeat LED pulses on and off.

This section provides an overview of the engine diagnostics that are available in the HP Color LaserJet
CP3525 Series product. The product contains extensive internal diagnostics that help in troubleshooting
print quality, paper path, noise, component, and timing issues.

PRINT EVENT LOG This item prints an event log that displays the last 50 entries in the printer’s
event log, starting with the most recent.
SHOW EVENT LOG This item displays the last 50 events on the control panel display, starting with
the most recent.
PQ TROUBLESHOOTING This item prints a series of eight pages that include instructions, pages for
each color, demo page, and configuration page. These pages can help isolate
print-quality problems.
PRINT DIAGNOSTICS PAGE This item allows you to print a page that can assist in diagnosing printer
problems.
DISABLE CARTRIDGE CHECK This item allows you to remove a print cartridge to help determine which
cartridge is the source of a problem.
PAPER PATH SENSORS This item performs a test on each of the printer’s sensors to determine if they
are working correctly and displays the status of each sensor.
PAPER PATH TEST This item is useful for testing the paper handling features of the printer, such
as the configuration of the trays.
MANUAL SENSOR TEST This item performs tests to determine whether the paper-path sensors are
operating correctly.
MANUAL SENSOR TEST 2 This item performs tests to determine whether the paper-path sensors are
operating correctly.
COMPONENT TEST This item activates individual parts independently to isolate noise, leaking,
and other hardware issues.
