• ISSUE (External): When using the PCL6 driver and you do not have enough
RAM, the driver seems to allow you to enable Job Retention. However, when you
go back to the dialog after clicking OK, the Job Retention option is not selected.
DESCRIPTION:
1. Right click the printer icon, click Properties, and then click the Configure
tab.
2. Click More.... In the More Configuration Options dialog box, check the Job
Retention Enabled option.
3. Click OK.
4. Click OK again. The Job Retention option is not checked.
WORKAROUND: Add more memory to enable Job Retention.
• ISSUE (Internal): Pages are clipped when you select rotated paper sizes on the
printer control panel.
DESCRIPTION: To replicate the occurrence, follow these steps:
1. Load A4 size paper in the multipurpose tray, narrow edge first.
2. At the printer control panel, set the paper size for tray 1 to A4-R.
3. In the driver, select A4 as the paper size and tray 1 as the paper source.
4. Print a test page.
5. The printout will appear clipped on nearly all sides.
The PS driver prints normally; however, a "41.3 unexpected paper size"
error is seen consistently. The PCL6 driver prints only after you press the
VALUE key on the printer control panel to select A4 media, and then
press the GO key. This also results in a constant 41.3 error. Output also
prints in landscape orientation when the portrait orientation is selected as
the default setting.
WORKAROUND: Check for a new driver on the Web.
• ISSUE: (Internal): Using the A4/Letter override feature in Microsoft Word 2000,
the printer may unexpectedly prompt you to load A4/Letter paper.
DESCRIPTION: This occurs when the following conditions are met:
• The printer has only Letter-size paper installed.
• The application print job is configured to A4-size paper.
• The paper size in the driver is also set to A4.
