• The A4/Letter override is set to "ON" in the application.
• The Override A4/Letter setting is set to "OFF" on the control
panel.
If the A4/Letter override feature is enabled in the application, the driver
size setting (that is, Letter or A4) is used by the application to determine
the size that is sent in the job. The document is scaled to fit that size.
If the "scale" feature is used, the application scales the output to the
paper size selected by the scale feature.
Word enables you to override A4/Letter in two ways:
1. Set a one-time printing option to adjust a document for letter or A4
paper size:
Click File, then click Print. Under Zoom, in the Scale to paper size box,
click Letter (or A4), and then click OK.
2. Scale documents for all printing sessions:
Click Tools, click Options, and then click the Print tab. Select the Allow
A4/Letter resizing check box.
Macintosh drivers have a similar feature called "Fit to Page" that is "Off"
by default.
WORKAROUND: Set the paper size to the paper output size that you
want. To set the paper size, click File, click Page Setup..., click the
Paper Size tab, and select the paper size in the Paper Size: drop-down
menu.
You must also clear the "Allow A4/Letter paper resizing" feature in the
application. To clear this feature, click Tools, click Options..., and then
click the Print tab. Do not select the Allow A4/Letter paper resizing
check box.
PCL 6 driver
• ISSUE (External): Duplex print jobs with back cover result in two blank sheets at
end of document, not one.
WORKAROUND: None. Recycle the extra sheet.
PS driver
• ISSUE (External): The custom page sizes on the multipurpose trays do not work
when PostScript Custom Size is selected.
DESCRIPTION: This problem can occur when printing a job using
Microsoft Word 2000 with a Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows
XP operating system.
