The following section shows the dialog box options that appear during the HP Color LaserJet 1600
printing-system software installation on Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
NOTE The HP Color LaserJet 1600 printing-system software installer does not support
Microsoft Windows 98 SE or Microsoft Windows Me. To install the HP Color LaserJet 1600
printing-system software on a computer running Microsoft Windows 98 SE or Microsoft Windows
Me, you must complete a Plug and Play installation. For more information, see
Installing the
printing-system using Microsoft Windows Plug and Play.
NOTE HP recommends that you install the software before connecting the HP Color
LaserJet 1600 printer to the computer (software-first installation). These instructions are for a
software-first installation.
Use these instructions the first time you install the HP Color LaserJet 1600 printing-system
software .

Click Documentation to open your Web browser and the HP Color LaserJet 1600 Printing System
Install Notes.
Click Next to go to the License Agreement dialog box (step 2).
Click Cancel to go to the Exit Setup dialog box (step 8).
