1. Remove the following components:

Formatter shield (see

●
Fax cover (see
Fax cover on page 96)
●
Left-side cover (see
Left-side cover on page 97)
●
ADF/scanner assembly (see
Scanner assembly on page 90)
2. Unhook the clasp on the registration assembly gear (callout 1), and then slide the gear off of the
shaft.
