Problem with printhead
There is a problem with the printhead.
Turn o the printer, and then turn it on again.
If the problem persists, contact HP support for service. For more information, see HP support.
Please Connect to HP Instant Ink
The printer must be connected to HP Instant Ink, otherwise you will be unable to print soon without further
warning. See the printer control panel for instructions on connecting, or visit the HP Instant Ink program
website for more information.
Paper Jam in Automatic Document Feeder
Clear a paper jam in the document feeder. For more information, see Jams and paper-feed issues.
HP Protected Cartridge Installed
The ink cartridge listed on the printer control panel can only be used in the printer that initially protected the
cartridge using the HP Cartridge Protection feature. The ink cartridge must be replaced in this printer.

Used HP Instant Ink Cartridge
The cartridge is not compatible with your printer.
This error can occur if you install an HP Instant Ink cartridge into a printer that has not been enrolled in the HP
Instant Ink program. It can also occur if the HP Instant Ink cartridge was previously used in a dierent printer
enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program.

Older generation cartridge installed
The older generation cartridge does not work in your printer. It can still be used with some older printer
models. If you do not own an older printer model and your cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge, contact HP
Support. For more information about contacting HP support, see HP support. To order a genuine HP
replacement cartridge online, see Order cartridges . For problems with cartridges obtained from HP Instant
Ink, please visit the HP Instant Ink program website for more information.
Paper too long to auto-duplex
The paper loaded is longer than supported by the printer automatic duplexing. You can manually duplex it by
selecting "manual duplex" or "print odd pages" and "print even pages" in your printer software (if supported).
