Light description/Light pattern Explanation and recommended action
Power light is on and Resume light blinks. Printer is paused either out of paper or
media width mismatch.
If out of paper, load paper. If media width
mismatch, load correct paper. After
appropriate action, press
(Resume
button) to continue the print job.
Resume and Power lights on. Printer cover or door is open.
Close printer cover and doors.
Right or left ink cartridge blinks and Power light
is on.
Borderless print error; missing or failed
cartridge; cartridge in wrong slot; miss-
installed cartridge. Right or Left ink cartridge
lights indicate whether the problem is with
the Tri-color or Black/Photo ink cartridge.
Follow the instructions provided in the HP
software messages displayed on your
computer.
Right or left ink cartridge light blinks, Resume
light blinks, Power light is on.
Ink cartridge is very low or the cartridge is
counterfeit or previously used. Right or left
ink cartridge lights indicate whether the
problem is with the Tri-color or Black/Photo
ink cartridge.

If this cartridge was sold to you as a new,
genuine HP cartridge, it may be a
counterfeit. Contact the store where this
cartridge was purchased or visit HP at:

information or to report suspected fraud.

cover non-HP ink or non-HP cartridges.
