Remove the thermal shield on the 17.3-in computer:
1. Position the computer right-side up with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the PM2.5×3.0 screw (1) from the thermal shield.
3. Raise the thermal shield (2) and remove it (3) from the computer.
Remove the thermal shield on the 15.6-in computer:
1. Position the computer right-side up with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the two PM2.5×3.0 screws (1) and (2) from the thermal shield.
3. Raise the thermal shield (3) and remove it (4) from the computer.
