Memory
The following guidelines must be followed when memory modules are added or replaced:
Supports FBD DDR2 DIMMs using 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB DDR2 DRAMs.
Memory speed of 667 or 800 MHz DDR2 FBD is supported.
• Supported configurations.
• Supported DIMM capacity: 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, or 8 GB.
• Supported configurations
Install identical pairs in the following order:1-5, 9-13, 2-6, 10-14, 3-7, 11-15, 4-8, 12-16.
In 2, 4, 8 and 16 DIMM configurations it is recommended that :
○ DIMMs in slots 1-5, 9-13 are identical.
○ DIMMs in slots 2-6, 10-14 are identical.
○ DIMMs in slots 3-7, 11-15 are identical.
○ DIMMs in slots 4-8, 12-16 are Identical.
CAUTION: DIMMs can be damaged by improper handling. Always use an anti-static wrist
strap and grounding mat, and discharge static electricity before touching DIMMs.
NOTE: Refer to “System Board Components” in this document for the DIMM locations.
