Remove the fan blank.
9. Install the fan.
CAUTION: The fan does not have a fan guard. Special attention is needed when removing or
installing the fan to prevent finger injury.
10. Connect the fan cable to the system board ("System board components" on page 12).
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
11. Install the access panel (on page 21).
12. Do one of the following:
o Slide the server into the rack.
o Install the server into the rack ("Installing the server into the rack" on page 29).
13. Power up the server (on page 17).
