Grasp the PCI riser cage at the touch points and lift it out of the chassis.
8. If you are removing the FlexibleLOM riser cage from the secondary PCIe riser location, do the
following:
a. Disconnect all cables connected to existing expansion boards.
b. Loosen the captive thumbscrew on the front end of the PCI riser cage, and then remove the
screw from its rear end.
c. Grasp the PCI riser cage at the touch points and lift it out of the chassis.

CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server
unless all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 27).
