Prepare the drive.
5. Install the drive.
6. Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions ("Hot-plug drive LED definitions" on page
20).
7. Install the front bezel (on page 25).
Installing a non-hot-plug drive
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 23).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Remove the front bezel (on page 24).
4. Place the server on its side.
5. Remove the access panel (on page 25).
