7. Install the expansion board into the PCI riser cage.
8. Install the riser cage.
9. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board.

10. Install the access panel (Installing the access panel on page 56).
11. Install the server into the rack (Installing the server into the rack on page 48).
12. Connect each power cord to the server.
13. Connect each power cord to the power source.
14. Power up the server on page 53.
Installing an HPE InfiniBand HDR/Ethernet 940QSFP 56x16 adapter
The server supports installing up to two adapters. Each adapter requires the installation of an auxiliary card.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, electric shock, or damage to the equipment, remove
power from the server by removing the power cord. The front panel Power On/Standby button does not
shut off system power. Portions of the power supply and some internal circuitry remain active until AC
power is removed.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all PCI
slots have either an expansion slot cover or an expansion board installed.
