8 Installing Cables
Note the polarities when installing batteries. Do not connect the positive and
negative poles of a battery or battery string together. Otherwise, the battery may
be short-circuited.
● Do not smoke or have an open ame around batteries.
● The site must be equipped with qualied re ghting facilities, such as re sand
and carbon dioxide re extinguishers.
● Wear personal protective equipment and use dedicated insulated tools to avoid
electric shocks or short circuits.
Tighten the screws on copper bars or cables to the torque specied in this
document. Periodically conrm whether the screws are tightened, check for rust,
corrosion, or other foreign objects, and clean them up if any. Loose screw
connections will result in excessive voltage drops and batteries may catch re
when the current is high.
