• Swipe down from the middle of the home screen to display the search box, and search
for Compass. The rst result will be the pre-installed Compass app.
• Find Compass in the Tools folder.
2 You can view directions and coordinates in either of the following ways:
• When you hold your phone at, the Compass screen will display the direction your
phone is pointing towards, along with the current coordinates.
• When you hold your phone upright, the Compass screen will display the viewnder of
the rear camera on your phone, as well as the direction your phone is pointing
towards, and the current coordinates.
To lock the current direction, touch the compass dial. The dial marks will turn blue if you
stray o course.
For optimal accuracy, remember to hold your phone at or upright when using Compass.
Calibrate the Compass
If the direction displayed on a compass or map app is dierent from the actual direction, you
need to calibrate the Compass.
1 In an environment with magnetic eld interference (such as from magnets or microwave
ovens), the calibration screen will automatically be displayed when Compass is opened.
2 Move to an area away from magnetic interference, hold your phone, and follow the
onscreen instructions to calibrate the device.
