5.14.3 Replacing a Quorum Server
This section describes how to replace a quorum server.
Impact on the System
The services and programs running on a quorum server will be interrupted when it is
removed. The arbitration mode of the active-active services automatically switches to the
static priority mode.
Prerequisites
l The spare part and its components are ready.
l The quorum server to be replaced has been located.
l All services and programs on the quorum server have been stopped, and the quorum
server has been powered off.
l Data has been backed up for the quorum server before it is removed.
l The cable connection positions on the quorum server to be replaced have been clearly
marked.
Precautions
l Remove or insert a quorum server with even force. Excessive force may damage the
appearance or connectors of the quorum server.
l The quorum server is heavy so that at least two persons are required to move it.
Tools and Materials
l ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves
l Screwdriver
Procedure
Step 1 Power off the quorum server.
Step 2 Remove the quorum server.
1. Disconnect all power cables and signal cables from the quorum server.
2. Loosen the captive screws on the quorum server panel using a screwdriver. See step (1)
in Figure 5-121.
