Table 2-27 FM-A component description
No. Item Description
1 Hard disk The FM-A supports a maximum of twelve 2.5-inch hot-
swappable SAS, SATA, or SSD hard disks.
2 FM-A The FM-A supports hard disks, RAID controller cards, PCIe
riser cards, PCIe cards, and an iBBU or a supercapacitor.
3 PCIe riser
card
The FM-A provides two PCIe riser cards. Each riser card
provides two standard PCIe 3.0 x8 slots and one standard
PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
4/5 RAID
controller
card
The FM-A supports the following models of RAID controller
cards:
● RU320BC
– Uses the LSISAS2208 chip.
– Supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.
– Supports an iBBU or a supercapacitor for power failure
protection.
● RU130
– Uses the LSISAS3008 chip.
– Supports RAID 0, 1, 10, and 1E.
– Does not support power failure protection.
● RU430C
– Uses the LSISAS3108 chip.
– Supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.
– Supports a supercapacitor for power failure protection.
The FM-A supports the following RAID controller cards:
● RAID controller card 1 on compute module 1
● RAID controller card 2 on compute module 5
These RAID controller cards support RAID level migration and
drive roaming.
NOTE
When a compute module is not installed, the RAID controller card on
it is not available.
