5.4.2 Enabling Electrical Port Sleep
To save energy on a device, you can enable electrical port sleep on the device.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface { interface-type interface-number }
The interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
port-auto-sleep enable
Electrical port sleep is enabled.
By default, the sleep function is disabled on an Ethernet port.

After enabling electrical port sleep, you can run the following command to check the
configuration.
Procedure
l Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
l Run:
interface { interface-type interface-number }
The interface view is displayed.
l Run:
display this
Check whether port sleep is enabled.
