4 OPERATION
4.01 TO THE NEW
OPERATOR OR OWNER
Husky Farm Equipment's Liquid
Manure Pumps are designed
to
efficiently agitate
and
pump liquid manure from
the
storage facility
to
the
hauling tank, transferring
to
alternative storage or
to
feed
a high pressure irrigation pump
for
Irrigating
the
manure. Many
of
the features incorporated into this
machine are the result
of
suggestions made by
customers like you. Read this manual carefully
to
learn
how
to
operate the machine safely and
how
to
set
it
to
provide maximum efficiency. The manual will take you
step-by-step through your working day.
By
following
the
operating instructions
in
conjunction with a
good
maintenance program. your Liquid Manure Pump
will
provide many years
of
trouble-free service.
General Information About the
Husky Liquid Manure
H5000/H6000 Pump
Husky Farm Equipment Limited
deSIgns
and manufactures
all
of
its
products
so
they
can
be
operated safely. However
the
responsibility
for
safe operation rests with those who use
and
maintain
these products.
The Husky Liquid Manure
Pump
should be operated only by those
who
have been
trained
to
do so. and who
have
read these operating
instructions
and
operating manual. Failure
to
follow
the
instructions. procedures
and
safety precautions
in
this
manual
may
increase the possibility
of
an
accident or
injury.
The Husky H5000 Liquid Manure
Pump
is
designed
to
be driven with a farm tractor with
a
540
RPM
PTO (1:1.35 ratio), or
the
gear box can
be
turned over
to
operate
at
1000
RPM
(1.35: I ratio).
The
Husky H6000 Pump
is
designed just
for
1000
RPM
(1:1
ratio). If
run
at
higher RPM's damage
to
gear
box
and
drive train could result.
The Husky Liquid Manure Pump
comes
in
different lengths
to
suit different pit depths.
make sure
the
pump you
are
using
is
matched with
the
pit
so
that
PTO runs reasonably straight. If
PTO
is
run
on
too great
an
angle
it
will cause vibration and could
shear a pin
in
the
PTO or
it
could cause
the
PTO
to
break and increase
the
danger
of
injury. or
it
would
wear the bearings
in
the
gear box prematurely.
The
H5000 Liquid Manure Pump
takes between
70
and
100
HP
tractor to operate
efficiently. The H6000 Liquid Manure Pump takes 150
HP.
A smaller tractor will operate the Liquid Manure
Pump satisfactorily
to
fill
tank or transfer but will not
come
up
to
full
RPM. putting a larger tractor on the
pump will
not
damage
the
pump providing
it
is
run
at
proper speed.
4.02 HOW THE MACHINE
WORKS
The Husky Liquid Manure Pump uses
a P.T.O. driven impeller or
fan
assembly
to
carry
the
manure
in
a pipe
from
the
pit or storage area to a
manure spreader. remote storage facility. truck or
container
of
some description. A pipe attached
to
the
top
of
the
pump called a discharge pipe carries
the
manure.
