Handlebar
Disconnect the control cable on the gear-
box and blade clutch respectively.
Replacing the drive control cable
Remove the screws and barrel nuts by
the handlebar’s attachment to the cutting
cover.
Disconnect the drive control cables and
the blade clutch from the gearbox and
crankshaft clutch respectively (see chap-
ters entitled “Controls” and “Engine”).
Replacing the drive control cable
Remove the screws and barrel nuts by
the handlebar’s attachment to the cutting
cover.
Fold the handlebar down and pull the cable
out of the bottom part of the handlebar.
Push the cable into the central section of
the handlebar and remove it completely
from the handlebar.
Fit a new cable in the reverse order.
Push the cable into the handlebar as
far as it will go to prevent it from getting
jammed in the hinge. Also make sure it
goes under the guide in the hinge as
shown in the illustration below.
Screw the bottom part of the handlebar
tightly onto the cutting cover mounting.
Connect the cable to the lever arm on the
gearbox.
NOTE!
Do not forget to pull the cable
through the protective cover of the
gearbox before connecting it.
Push the handlebar forwards and pull the
cable out of the bottom part of the handle-
bar.
Remove the cable completely from the
handlebar and fi t a new one in the reverse
order.
Screw the handlebar tightly and connect
the cable to the gearbox.
Replacing the blade clutch control
cable
Dismantle and assemble the cables in
the same way as described for the drive
control cables.

Dismantle and assemble the cables in
the same way as described for the drive
control cables.
NOTE!
Attach the cable to the clip under-
neath the gearbox cover so that it
does not lie against the drive belt.
Replacing the electric
starter cable
Remove the gearbox cover and detach
the plug connectors.
Pull the cable up out of the handlebar.
Fit a new cable in the reverse order as set
out for dismantling.

Remove the gearbox cover.
Detach the plug connectors and pull the
cable up out of the handlebar.
Fit a new cable in the reverse order. Both
screws holding the handlebar against the
cutting cover must be removed so the
cable connector is able to pass.
