9.1.1.5 To remove the left footrest plate
• Remove the 4 screws and remove the footrest plate.
9.1.1.6 To remove the right side cover
1. Remove the right footrest plate. Refer to To remove
the right footrest plate on page 18 .
Note: 2 of the screws of the footrest plate also hold
the right side cover.
2. Remove the 2 screws and remove the right side
cover.
9.1.1.7 To remove the transmission cover
• Remove the 2 screws and remove the transmission
cover.
9.1.1.8 To remove the frame tunnel cover
1. Remove the 2 screws (A).

2. Push the frame tunnel cover rearward (B) and lift the
front end of the frame tunnel cover (C).
9.1.1.9 To remove and install the air filter cover
1. Turn the 2 knobs ¼ turn counterclockwise.
2. Remove the air filter cover.
3. Install in the opposite sequence.
9.1.2 Throttle cable
9.1.2.1 To do a check of the throttle cable
Make sure that the engine speed changes when the
throttle is changed. Do a check that the engine gets the
correct speed at full throttle. See
