YourtractorisequippedwithaReverseOperationSystem
(ROS).Anyattemptbytheoperatortotravelinthereverse
direction with the attachment clutch engaged will shut off the
engineunlessignitionkeyisplacedintheROS"ON"position.
WARNING:Backingupwiththeattachment clutch en-
gaged while mowing is strongly discouraged. Turning the
ROS"ON",toallowreverseoperationwiththeattachment
clutchengaged,shouldonlybedonewhentheoperator
decides it is necessary to reposition the machine with the
attachment engaged. Do not mow in reverse unless
absolutely necessary.
TO OPERATE ON HILLS
CAUTION: Do not drive up or down
hills with slopes greater than 15° and
do not drive across any slope.
• Choosetheslowestspeedbeforestartingupordown
hills.
• Avoidstoppingorchangingspeedonhills.
• Ifstoppingisabsolutelynecessary,pushbrakepedal
quickly to brake position and engage parking brake.
• Torestartmovement,slowlyreleaseparkingbrakeand
brake pedal.
• Slowlydepressappropriatedrivepedaltoslowestsetting.
• Makeallturnsslowly.
USINGTHEREVERSEOPERATIONSYSTEM-
Onlyuseifyouarecertainnochildrenorotherbystanders
will enter the mowing area.
• Depressbrakepedalallthewaydown.
• Withenginerunning,turnignitionkeycounterclockwise
toROS"ON"position.
• Lookdownandbehindbeforeandwhilebacking.
• Slowlydepressreversedrivepedaltostartmovement.
• WhenuseoftheROSisnolongerneeded,turnthe
ignitionkeyclockwisetoengine"ON"position.
TOWING CARTS AND OTHER ATTACHMENTS
Tow only the attachments that are recommended by and
comply with specifications of the manufacturer of your trac-
tor.Usecommonsensewhentowing.Tooheavyofaload,
whileonaslope,isdangerous.Tirescanlosetractionwith
the ground and cause you to lose control of your tractor.

CAUTION: Do not operate the mower
without either the entire grass catcher, on
mowers so equipped, or the deflector chute
in place (See Fig. 11).
TO TRANSPORT (See Fig. 4 & 13)
Whenpushingortowingyourtractor,ensuretransmission
is disengaged by placing freewheel control in freewheeling
position.Freewheelcontrolislocatedatthereardrawbar
of tractor.
• Raiseattachmentlifttohighestpositionwithattachment
lift control.
• Pullfreewheelcontroloutandintotheslotandrelease
so it is held in the disengaged position.
• Donotpushortowtractoratmorethantwo(2)mph
(3,2km/h).
• Toreengagetransmission,reverseaboveprocedure.
NOTE: To protect hood from damage when transporting
yourtractoronatruckoratrailer,ensurehoodisclosed
andsecuredtotractor.Useanappropriatemeansoftying
hoodtotractor(rope,cord,etc.).
