• Blockupaxlesecurely.
• Removeaxlecover,retainingringandwasherstoallow
wheelremoval(rearwheelcontainsasquarekey-Do
notlose).
• Repairtireandreassemble.
• Onrearwheelsonly:aligngroovesinrearwheelhub
andaxle.Insertsquarekey.
• Replacewashersandsnapretainingringsecurelyin
axlegroove.
• Replaceaxlecover.
NOTE: To seal tire punctures and prevent flat tires due
toslowleaks,tiresealantmaybepurchasedfromyour
local parts dealer. Tire sealant also prevents tire dry rot
and corrosion.
SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 40)
Parkthetractoronlevelsurface.Engageparkingbrake.
Forassistance,thereisabeltinstallationguidedecalon
bottom side of left footrest.
BELTREMOVAL-
1. Removemower.(See“TOREMOVEMOWER”section
inthismanual.)
NOTE:Observeentiremotiondrivebeltandpositionofall
belt guides and keepers.
2. Disconnectclutchwireharness(A).
3. Removeanti-rotationlink(B)onrightsideoftractor.
4. Removebeltfromstationaryidler(C)andclutchingidler(D).
5. Removebeltfromcenterspanidler(E).
6. Pullbeltslacktowardrearoftractor.Carefullyremove
belt upwards from transmission input pulley and over
coolingfanblades(F).
7. Removebeltdownwardfromenginepulleyandaround
electricclutch(G).
8. Slidebelttowardrearoftractor,offthesteeringplate
(H)andremovefromtractor.
BELTINSTALLATION-
1. Installnewbeltfromtractorreartofront,overthesteer-
ingplate(H)andaboveclutchbrakepedalshaft(J).
2. Pull belt toward front of tractor and roll belt around
electricclutchandontoenginepulley(G).
3. Pullbelttowardrearoftractor.Carefullyworkbeltdown
around transmission cooling fan and onto the input pul-
ley(F).Besurebeltisinsidethebeltkeeper.
4. Installbeltoncenterspanidler(E).
5. Installbeltthroughstationaryidler(C)andclutchingidler(D).
6. Reinstallanti-rotationlink(B)onrightsideoftractor.
Tighten securely.
7. Reconnectclutchharness(A).
8. Ensurebeltisinallpulleygroovesandinsideallbelt
guides and keepers.
9. Installmower.(See“TOINSTALLMOWER”sectionin
thismanual.)

chassisground,awayfromfueltankandbattery.
