Cleaning
the
Erasure
Dustpan
With
the
platen
out
and the
cover
raised:
-
Tab
until
the Carrier
reaches
the far
right.
-
Turn
off
the
motor.
-
With
the
pencil—shaped
Dual-purpose
Brush,
sweep
lightly
toward either the
left
or
the
right
side
of
the
typewriter.
Note:
Do
not
allow
your
brush
to
interfere
with
the
tapes
located
above
the
dustpan.
Removing
and
Replacing
the
Deflector
It
will
rarely
be
necessary
for
you
to
remove
the
Deflector
but,
when
doing
so,
use
care
not
to
bend the
tines—toothed
edges—on
either
end.
To
Remove
the Deflector
-
Make
sure
the
motor
is
Off.
.
Pull
the
Paper
Release
Lever
forward.
-
With
the
platen
out
you
simply
lift
the
Deflector
out,
taking
care
not
to
disturb
the feed rolls.
