Backing up your system
Using the Software Selections CD
The Software Selections CD is provided for your installation
convenience. You can customize your computer with this CD. It
contains all the software applications and device drivers for your
computer.
If you need to reinstall software, or install a driver for a hardware
device, put the Software Selections CD in your CD-ROM or
DVD-ROM drive. The Features menu appears automatically.
The Software Selections CD offers the following functions:
Welcome
This page displays the model and serial number of your
computer, and a menu from which you can select an item by
clicking it.
Install Software
Use this page for doing the following:
– Reinstalling a software application
– Installing a hardware device driver
– Installing additional software that was not preinstalled on
your computer
Uninstall Software
You can uninstall any application program or device driver that
was installed from the Software Selections CD and that has an
uninstall entry in the Add/Remove Program list.
Advanced Functions
– Change Settings
You can view the Software Selections CD program text and
software products in a language other than the language of
your operating system.
– Create a Device Driver Diskette
Drivers for the most common devices are provided on the
Software Selections CD. With this function, you can create
an installation diskette for the drivers you need.
