PERFORMANCE:
The Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor have undergone EC Type Examination to assure
compliance with Directive 89/686/EEC. They have additionally been examined and tested to
assure their compliance with the appropriate technical Standard.

Misuse that will degrade Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor performance:
Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor must be worn to provide any protection. Improper
use of these impact protectors can seriously compromise effectiveness and reduce performance.
In order for the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor to retain their original protective
capabilities only use the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor for the purposes described
in the “Use Restrictions and Limitations” section of this information note. Never tamper with
any part of the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor. Never bend or twist the Stryker
Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor excessively as this constitutes improper use. Do not paint
the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor or use colorants of any nature. Icon shall not
accept complaints or replace Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor that have been used
improperly.
Environmental conditions that will degrade the performance of the Stryker Elbow Armor
and Stryker Knee Armor:
Contamination with foreign substances and/or improper care can seriously compromise the
Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor effectiveness and reduce their performance. Do
not expose Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor to extreme direct sunlight or extreme
moisture. Do not expose the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor to extremely high or
low temperatures like those found in a closed car or outdoor storage

PROTECTION LIMITATIONS:
Protection Limitations:
These impact protectors are considered to be items of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
because they are designed and manufactured to provide limited protection against the risk of
impact with the ground or road surface, in the event of a fall from a motorcycle, by means of
limiting the impact force transmitted. The Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor arch
both forward and backward because excessive rigidity could transmit forces outside the protected
area. Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor are designed to be lightweight so as to limit
restriction, permit freedom of movement and permit effective control actuation. Stryker Elbow
Armor and Stryker Knee Armor will not prevent traumas caused by high-energy impacts, traumas
caused by severe forces of bending, twisting, torsion, or crushing as the result of striking an
object, or traumas caused by extreme movements. No impact protector or amount of impact
protection, can offer complete protection against all injuries, the principle is to create a product
that will help to reduce the risk of injury to the area protected.
Cleaning:
Do not wash the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor with water. Remove any dirt with
a damp cloth. Dry by laying the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor flat on a towel in
a well-ventilated area. Do not use hair dryers or other heaters. Do not use solvents or other toxic
substances to clean the Stryker Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee Armor.
Maintenance:
Never modify any part of the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor in any way other that
the shortening of the adjustment straps according to the instructions above.
Storage:
Store the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor in a dry, ventilated area away from
sunlight or direct heat. Ensure that they cannot be knocked and that they are not stored under
heavy objects. Do not store the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor with their weight
distributed across a few, single points only. If wet after use, before storing, dry the Stryker Elbow
Armor and Stryker Knee Armor in a ventilated space at room temperature; do not use hair dryers
or other heaters.
Transport:
Ensure that the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor cannot be knocked and that they
are not transported under heavy objects. Never fold the Stryker Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee
Armor. Do not expose the Stryker Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee Armor to extremely high or low
temperatures like those found in a closed car.
Spare Parts:
No spare parts are available for the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor, if the Stryker
Elbow Armor or Stryker Knee Armor are damaged in any way they should be replaced.
Disposal:
At the end of the Stryker Elbow Armor and Stryker Knee Armor’s useful life, do not discard them
into the environment. Dispose of them according to your local disposal requirements
