This document is the instruction manual for the IGENIX 200W Hand Blender, Model Number IG8650. It provides essential information for safe operation, technical specifications, usage instructions, maintenance tips, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The IGENIX 200W Hand Blender is a household appliance designed for indoor use, primarily for blending various food items. It features a motor unit and a detachable shaft with a blade, allowing for easy assembly, disassembly, and cleaning. The blender offers two speed settings: low speed and high speed, controlled by switches on the motor unit. It is suitable for blending ingredients in a suitable mixing bowl.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Output: 200W
  • Supply Voltage: 220-240V ~ 50Hz
  • Model Number: IG8650
  • Maximum Continuous Operation Time: 1 minute per cycle (under high speed). A 10-minute cooling period is required between cycles to prevent motor overheating.
  • Fuse Requirement: 3A fuse in a 13A BS1363 plug. The wiring instructions for the plug are: green/yellow wire to E (Earth), blue wire to N (Neutral), and brown wire to L (Live).
  • Warranty: 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase against mechanical and electrical defects. The warranty does not cover consumable parts or accessories such as beakers, belts, or accessory attachments.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: To assemble, the detachable shaft is turned anti-clockwise into the motor unit until tightened. For disassembly, it is turned clockwise.
  • Operation: After plugging the blender into a mains power outlet, it is lowered into a mixing bowl. Blending is initiated by depressing and holding either the low or high speed switch on the motor unit. Releasing the switch stops the blender.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • The blades are extremely sharp and must be handled with care.
    • The blender should always be unplugged before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning.
    • The motor unit and cord must not be immersed in water or any other liquid.
    • It should not be used in bathrooms, near water, or outdoors.
    • Hands and utensils must be kept away from the spinning blade and out of the container during blending to prevent injury.
    • The cutting blade should not be placed on the base without the bowl properly in place.
    • Hot food or liquids should not be blended.
    • Foods containing hard objects that cannot be safely broken up by the blade should not be blended.
    • The blender should not be placed on or near a hot hob or heated oven.
    • The power cord should not hang over the edge of a counter where children can pull it.
    • The cord should not be pulled to disconnect the plug from the wall socket.
    • The appliance should not be used if the power cord, plug, or any other parts are damaged, or if it has been dropped or shows visible signs of damage.
    • It is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
    • Children should not be allowed to play with the blender.
    • Never leave the blender unattended while plugged into the mains socket.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning Before First Use: The blender should be cleaned by holding it inside a cup or bowl of warm water and turning the power on for a few seconds. This "quick wash" method should not exceed 15 seconds.
  • General Cleaning:
    • Always unplug the blender from the mains power outlet before cleaning.
    • Remove the detachable shaft from the motor unit.
    • The motor unit should be wiped with a soft damp cloth and must not be immersed in water.
    • The detachable shaft can be washed under running water and is dishwasher safe. After washing, it should be placed upright on a draining board to allow excess water to drain.
    • All parts must be completely dry before re-assembling.
  • Disposal: The product is marked with a crossed-out "wheeled bin" symbol, indicating that it falls under the European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). This means it should not be disposed of with normal unsorted municipal waste but must be collected separately to optimize recovery and recycling and minimize environmental impact. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for correct disposal information.

Troubleshooting Guide (Summary):

  • Blender does not work:
    • Check if the motor unit and shaft are correctly connected.
    • Ensure the blender is firmly plugged into the mains wall socket.
    • Verify there is electricity in the mains wall socket (check fuse or breaker).
    • If the motor has overheated (due to continuous use for more than 1 minute), allow it to cool down for 10 minutes before resuming operation.
