Problem
Piccoboard doesn’t work
right or at all
Servos and motors don’t
work
Piccolo yaws after taking
off
The gyro doesn’t work
right
The tail rotor mixer can’t
get adjusted.
The tail yaws while
hoovering.
Possible reason
The crystal of the piccoboard
receiver is unplugged
Receiver and transmitter crystal
don’t match with each other
(caused by damage \different
channels)
The servo plugs (brown\
red\orange) of the piccoboard
are reversed or mixed up or not
even plugged in the receiver part
of the piccoboard.
The tail rotor mixer isn’t properly
adjusted.
The installation of the
piccoboard isn’t correct.
The tail rotor doesn’t work right.
The 2 trimmpotis react very
sensitive and should therefore
get adjusted in a very careful
and gentle way.
The gain of the gyro is too high.
Consequence
The receiver can’t receive the
signals of the transmitter.
The receiver can’t receive the
signals of the transmitter.
The receiver can’t get supplied with
power and therefore doesn’t work.
Reversal of the plugs polarity
normally does not damage the
electronics.
The tail yaws and makes sudden
moves.
The gyro corrects and stabilizes the
wrong axis.
The tailrotor doesn’t have enough
power.
After adjusting the trimpotis only
approximately, it’s difficult to find the
optimal settings again.
The gyro’s stick authority (over
control) is too high.
Correction
Plug in the receiver crystal, which is normally
enclosed to the transmitter (as shown in the
illustration).
Check if both crystals have the same channel.
Attention: Don’t mix up the Crystals (transmitter=
TF resp.TX \ receiver=RA resp.RX)
The plugs of the board and the servos get plugged
into the receiver as described.
Watch out for the right polarity of the plugs.
Adjust the tail rotor mixer as suggested.
Check if you’ve installed the piccoboard correctly.
Check the tail rotor. Make sure the tail rotor works
moves without friction.
Unplug the flight batteries and set the potis back to
the factory settings (as shown in the illustration).
It is advisable to disconnect the batteries
temporarily after every single adjustment, to
reset the electronics.
Reduce the gain of the gyro (-).
