Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the IKER ZBS-20A Ice Maker & Shaver. It provides details on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The IKER ZBS-20A is a dual-purpose appliance designed to produce ice and shave it. It features an automatic ice-making process and a separate function for shaving ice. The machine is equipped with a control panel that includes indicators for "Ice Making," "Ice Full," and "Add Water," as well as buttons to "SHAVE ICE" and "ICE" (to start/stop ice making). The ice maker is designed for home use and can be connected to a tap for automatic water filling, or manually filled.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Daily Ice Output: 15-20 kg per 24 hours
  • Ice Storage Capacity: 3 kg
  • Water Reservoir Capacity: 3 liters
  • Refrigerant: R600a / R290
  • Ice Shape: Bullet
  • Dimensions: 378mm (width) x 398mm (depth) x 420mm (height)

Usage Features:

  • Initial Setup: Before first use, the ice maker should be placed horizontally on a level surface, ensuring at least 150mm of space for ventilation on the top, back, and sides. It is recommended to wait 2 hours after positioning and keep the front lid open for at least 2 hours before operation. The voltage indicated on the ice maker must match the home voltage. Spring water is recommended; pure water is not allowed.
  • Manual Water Filling: Open the lid, remove the ice basket, and fill the water reservoir. Ensure the water level does not exceed the bottom of the ice collecting tray.
  • Automatic Water Filling (Tap Connection):
    1. Insert brackets at the back of the machine.
    2. Remove lids from both sides of the filter.
    3. Install filter connectors on both sides, binding them with raw tape to prevent leakage.
    4. Stick the filter between the buckles, with the arrow on the filter pointing towards the left.
    5. Insert water pipes into both sides of the filter (do not connect to the machine yet).
    6. Unscrew the water tap, screw on the metal tap interface, then screw the water tap to the interface.
    7. Connect the blue water tap with the tap interface to the right pipe of the filter. Turn on the tap for at least 10 seconds to drain water until it runs clear.
    8. Connect the left pipe to the water inlet hole on the machine and turn on the tap again.
    9. To disconnect the water pipe from the inlet hole, first remove the blue ring (A), then press the white ring (B) and pull out the pipe simultaneously.
  • Ice Making Operation:
    1. Connect the unit to power.
    2. Press the "ICE" button to turn the unit on.
    3. During the first three cycles, ice may be small or irregular.
    4. If the "Add Water" indicator lights up, remove the basket, add water, and press "ICE" to restart.
    5. If the "Ice Full" indicator lights up, remove the ice with the scoop. It is important to remove ice immediately to prevent the ice collecting tray from overfilling.
  • Ice Shaving Operation:
    1. Press the "SHAVED ICE" button.
    2. Before pressing, ensure enough ice is placed into the shaved ice bowl and the bowl cap is covered well.
  • Stopping Operation: Press the "ICE" button to stop the machine.
  • Draining Water: Place a tank below the unit, pull the unit forward slightly, and pull the drain plug from the middle of the tank to drain water.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the inner liner, ice collecting tray, water box, ice shovel, and evaporator. Unplug the unit and remove ice cubes before cleaning. Use a diluted solution of water and vinegar for both inside and outside surfaces. Avoid spraying with chemicals like acids, gasoline, or oil. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Ventilation: Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction. Do not use mechanical devices to accelerate defrosting unless recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Water Replacement: To maintain ice cube cleanliness, it is suggested to replace the water in the reservoir every 24 hours.
  • Compressor Restart: If the compressor stops due to water shortage, too much ice, or power off, wait 3 minutes before restarting the ice maker.
  • Fresh Water: Always use fresh water when starting ice production, both initially and after a long shut-off period.
  • Storage: When not in use, open the drawer at least 2cm to allow for air circulation and prevent metallic components from rusting.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect power before servicing.
    • Do not pull directly on the wire when plugging/unplugging.
    • If ice is abnormal, contact the seller.
    • Compressor and condenser surfaces can reach high temperatures (70-90°C) during operation; avoid touching them.
    • "Cloudy" ice cubes are normal due to trapped air and do not affect quality.
    • Damaged supply cords must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person.
    • The appliance can be used by children aged 8+ and individuals with reduced capabilities if supervised and instructed. Children should not play with the appliance.
    • Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
    • Fill only with bottled or good quality tap water (no fruit juices or other drinks).
    • Keep air vents unblocked.
    • Do not use mechanical devices to accelerate defrosting unless recommended.
    • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
    • Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments unless recommended.

Troubleshooting:

  • Ice Chips Jamming: If small ice chips form and jam the shovel (due to power failure or manual shutdown during a cycle), disconnect power, gently push the shovel to the rear, remove chips, then restart.
  • Shovel Malfunction: If the ice shovel doesn't push ice into the collector after it drops from the evaporator finger (and the "M" light is on), check if the water tray is horizontal. Adjust by lightly pressing the ice shovel, then restart.
  • Buzzing Noise (Compressor): Indicates low voltage. Stop the ice maker and restart when voltage is normal.
  • No Ice (Cycle Right): Suggests refrigerant leaks or a blocked sealed system. Call for service.
  • "Ice Full" and "Add Water" Lights On Simultaneously: An ice cube is blocking the water tray under the ice shovel. Remove the ice cube, then press the "ICE" button. The machine will restart automatically after 3 minutes.
  • Machine Running, Water Warm: Indicates a broken magnetic valve. Replace the magnetic valve.
