The TS-LS300 Auto-Learn® Line Leak Detector (LLD) is a precision electronic leak-detection system designed for petroleum pumping systems. It automatically monitors for leaks, providing visual and audible alarms, and can initiate pump shutdowns under specific conditions.
Function Description:
The TS-LS300 LLD system continuously monitors fuel lines for leaks. It initiates automatic leak tests after each dispense cycle or after periods of inactivity. The system conducts three types of leak tests: Gross (3.0 GPH), Monthly (0.2 GPH), and Annual (0.1 GPH). If a Gross leak is detected, the system will cause a positive pump shut-down. Monthly and Annual leaks, while smaller, also require action to prevent environmental contamination. The console provides visual indicators (HI, LOW, TEST, ALARM lamps) and an audible alarm (90 Db piezoelectric output) to signal various conditions, including passed tests, failed tests, and system malfunctions. The system uses LSU300 transducers installed at each Submersible Turbine Pump (STP) containment sump to monitor line pressure.

Usage Features:
- Auto-Learn® Calibration: The system automatically learns the pipeline characteristics during an initial calibration process. This involves installing a leak generator device and a pressure gauge, then running the pump to establish baseline pressure and flow data.
- Manual Line Leak Tests: Gross, Monthly, and Annual leak tests can be manually initiated. However, for precision tests (Monthly and Annual), specific inactive times (3 hours and 6 hours respectively) are required for valid results.
- Alarm Silence and Reset: The Test/Reset button on the console silences the alarm horn and clears alarm indications. It also initiates manual leak tests depending on the number of presses.
- Pump Shutdown: Gross leak failures cause a positive pump shut-down, preventing further dispensing.
- Compliance Reporting: The system facilitates compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for line leak testing. While the LS300 does not have a printer, it can interface with INCON TS-1001/TS-2001 ATG consoles for automated report printing. A form is provided in the manual for manual recording of LS300 status.
- Configuration Switches: Miniature slide-switches on the console allow for configuration of channels (Learn/Detect mode, Channel Enable) and Run/Stop operation.
Maintenance Features:
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides detailed troubleshooting steps for transducer issues, including checking signal voltages at test pads on the circuit board.
- Factory Support: INCON Technical Service is available for assistance with leak alarms and diagnostic codes. Users are advised to have console and transducer serial numbers ready when calling.
- Return Material Authorization (RMA): An RMA number must be obtained from INCON before returning any equipment for service or repair.
- Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes critical safety procedures for installation and maintenance, including locking out and tagging electrical power, relieving fuel-line pressure, using non-sparking tools, and ensuring proper ventilation in hazardous areas. Multiple DANGER stickers are provided to be placed on key components to reinforce safety warnings.
- Regular Checks: Periodical checks for hydrocarbon vapors in containment sumps are recommended.
- Professional Installation/Service: Only INCON certified installers or service personnel are authorized to access internal console areas and perform installation/maintenance.
