6 Setup and programming
Before you turn on power to the VGC083 for the first time, ensure the cables from
the VGC083 to the BAG05x nude on Mini and PGE050 convection gauges are
connected and secured. Turn on power by pressing the Power key.
The VGC083 provides three independent front panel LED displays:
• display represents pressure measurements from the BAG05x hot ion gauge
head (IG).
•
display represents pressure measurements from the first convection gauge
(CG1).
• display represents pressure measurements from the second convection or
an alternate gauge (CG2 or CG2-ALT).
A white LED is illuminated next to the selected engineering unit indicating meas-
urements in Torr, mbar or Pa (the pascals unit of measure is indicated as 'Pa' on
the front panel; millibars unit is indicated as mbar).
The VGC083 provides an independent setup and programming OLED setup
screen. This screen is used for set up, programming and operation of the ion and
convection vacuum gauges. Other useful information such as relay status indi-
cators, emission current and selected IG filament are also displayed in the setup
screen.
