7. All kinds of operations to be performed on gas in-
stallation should be performed by authorised and com-
petent people.
8. For proper operation, hood, gas pipe and clamp
should be replaced periodically according to manufac-
turer recommendations and when required.
9. Gas should burn well in gas appliances. Well burn-
ing gas can be understood from blue ame and contin-
uous burning. If gas does not burn sufciently, carbon
monoxide (CO) can be generated. Carbon monoxide is
a colourless, odourless and very toxic gas; even small
amounts have lethal effect.
10. Ask your local gas supplies about the phone num-
bers for emergencies related to gas and the measures
to be taken upon gas odour is detected.
