The child restraint top tether strap maybedam-
aged by contact with the parcel shelf or items in
the luggage compartment area. Removethe parcel
shelf from the vehicle or store it in its storage
space. Also, secure anyloose items in the luggage
compartment. Yourchildcouldbeseriouslyinjured
or killed in acollision ifthe toptether strap is dam-
aged.
Removal
1. Open the backdoor (see
Back door lock in the
2. Pre-driving checks and adjustments section
).
2. Detachboth of the cords (left and right)

from the inside of the backdoor.
3. Detach the parcel shelf
j
2bysimply pulling
it rearwards through the backdoor opening.
CAUTION
Make sure the parcel shelf is carefully stored when
not in useinorder to prevent any damage.
Installation
1. Open thebackdoor.
2. Insert the parcel shelf by pushing itforwards
as faraspossiblethrough the backdoor
opening.
3. Attach the corresponding cords to each side

ROOF RACK
(where fitted)
Always distribute the luggage evenly on the roof
rack.Donot load more than 100 kg (221lb) (for
Europe) on the roof rails. Observe the maximum
load limit shown on the crossbars orroof carri-
erswhen youattachthem on the roof rails. Con-
tact an INFINITI Centre or qualified workshop for
crossbar or other equipment information.
WARNING
Drive extracarefully when the vehicle is loaded at
or near the cargocarrying capacity,especially if
the significant portion of that load is carried on
the roof rack.
Heavy loading of the roof rack has the potential to
affect the vehicle stability and handling during
suddenorunusual handling manoeuvres.
Roof rack load should be evenly distributed.
Do not exceed maximum roof rack load weight ca-
pacity.
Properly secureall cargowith ropes or straps to
help prevent it from slidingorshifting. In asud-
den stop or collision, unsecured cargocould cause
personal injury.
CAUTION
Usecarewhen placingor removingitems fromthe roof
rack.Ifyou cannot comfortablylift the items onto the
roof rack from the ground, usealadder or stool.
SKIHATCH
(where fitted)
To open the skihatch:
1. Fold down rear seat armrest.
2. Pull the centre head restraint on the rear
benchseatinto the uppermost position.

2fully to the side. The flap is
held open by amagnet.
To close the skihatch:
1. Swing flap

1inthe luggagecompartment
backuntil it engages.
