The RearView monitor is aconveniencefeature but
it is not asubstitute forproper reversing. Always
turn and look out the windows, and checkmirrors
to be sure that it is safe to move before operating
the vehicle. Always reverse slowly.

Thesystem is designedasanaid to the driver in
showing largestationaryobjects directly behind
the vehicle, to help avoid damaging the vehicle.
•
The distanc eguide line and the vehicle width line
should be used as areferenceonlywhen the ve-
hicleisonalevel paved surface. The distance
viewed on the monitor is for referenceonlyand
maybedifferent than the actual distancebetween
thevehicle and displayed objects.
CAUTION
Do notscratch the cameralenswhen cleaning dirtor
snow from the lens.
TheRearView Monitor system automatically
showsarear view of the vehicle when the shift
leverisplacedinthe R(Reverse) position.
The radio canstillbeheard while the RearView
Monitor is active.
To display the rear view,the RearView Monitor
system uses acameralocated just above the ve-
hicle’s rear number plate

OPERATION
Withthe ignition switch inthe ONposition,move
theshift lever to the R(Reverse) position to op-
erate the RearView Monitor.
HOWTOREAD DISPLAYED LINES
Guidinglines whichindicate the vehicle width
anddistances to objects with referencetothe
bumper line

Distance guide lines:
Indicate distances from the bumper.

Redline j1:approx. 0.5m(1.5 ft)

Yellow line j2:approx.1m(3ft)

Green line j3:approx.2m(7ft)
•
Green line j4:approx. 3m(10 ft)
Vehicle width guide lines

Indicate the vehicle width when reversing.
Predictive course lines

Indicate the predictive course when reversing.
Thepredictive course lines will be displayed on
the monitorwhen the shift lever is in the R(Re-
verse) position andthe steeringwheel isturned.
The predictive course lines will move depending
on how muchthe steering wheel is turned and
will not be displayed while the steering wheel is
in the neutral position.
The vehiclewidth guide lines and the width of
the predictive course lines are wider than the
actual width and course.
