This document describes the Ingenuity Smart & Simple Playard, model #10233 NA, which functions as a playard and corral. It includes a bassinet, changing table, and canopy, offering multiple modes for infant care.
Function Description:
The Ingenuity Smart & Simple Playard is a multi-functional infant product designed for safe play and rest. It serves as a playard, a bassinet for younger infants, and a changing table. The playard mode provides a secure enclosure for a child to play, while the bassinet offers an elevated sleeping surface for newborns. The changing table attachment provides a convenient station for diaper changes. The product is intended for indoor use only.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Playard:
- Discontinue use when the child can climb out, reaches 35 inches (890 mm) in height, or weighs more than 30 lbs. (13.6 kg), whichever comes first.
- The product must be fully erected with secure latches before use.
- Always use the mattress provided with the product.
- Do NOT use a water mattress.
- If a sheet is used, it must be specifically designed for this playard mattress.
- Do not modify the playard or add unlisted attachments.
- Bassinet (Dream Centre™):
- Discontinue use when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or weighs more than 15 lbs. (6.8 kg), whichever comes first.
- The weight limit for the Dream Centre™ is 15 lbs (6.8 kg).
- ALWAYS secure this product to the playard using the zipper and buckles provided.
- To prevent falls, stop using the product when the infant begins to roll over or can pull up on sides (approximately 5 months).
- ALWAYS secure this product to the playard using the attachment tubes or clips provided.
- Changing Table:
- The weight limit for the changing table is 25 lbs. (11 kg).
- ALWAYS secure this product to the playard using the attachment tubes.
- Do not use the changing table as a sleeping or play area.
- Always stay within arm's reach of your child when using the changing table.
Usage Features:
- Assembly: Adult assembly is required. All instructions should be read before assembly and use. The product, including side rails, must be fully erected with secure latches before use.
- Safety Warnings:
- Not intended for sleeping in playard mode.
- Always provide supervision. Never leave child unattended when used for playing.
- Use with one child at a time.
- Do not move the product with a child inside.
- To reduce the risk of SIDS, healthy infants should be placed on their back to sleep, unless otherwise advised by a physician.
- Never leave a child in the product with the side lowered; ensure the side is in a raised and locked position.
- Do not use the bassinet or playard if instructions cannot be followed exactly.
- Keep the carrying bag away from children.
- Never place a child under the bassinet.
- Do not use improvised netting or covers on top of the playard, as this can lead to entrapment and death.
- Strangulation Hazard:
- Toy bars and toys can pose a strangulation injury risk. Remove toys when the baby begins to push up on hands and knees. Recommended use is from birth to 5 months.
- Strings can cause strangulation. Never place items with a string around a child's neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. Never suspend strings over the product or attach strings to toys.
- Never place the product near a window where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.
- Never leave the changing table in place when the child is in the playard.
- Choking Hazard:
- Keep medication and small items that could choke a child away from the playard.
- Suffocation Hazard:
- Infants have suffocated in gaps between an extra mattress and the side of the product, in gaps between extra padding and the side of the product, on soft bedding, on added pillows, blankets, and extra padding, and when trapped between the product and an adjacent surface.
- NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding. Use ONLY the mattress provided by Kids II. Never place extra padding under or beside the infant.
- Do not use the playard unless all washable fabrics are properly attached using all securing devices.
- Do not use the mattress without the boards properly installed.
- Do not store the bassinet in the playard while using the playard.
- Babies have suffocated while sleeping in changing areas. Changing areas are not designed for safe sleeping.
- NEVER allow a baby to sleep in the changing area.
- NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose, as they can cause suffocation.
- Portability: The playard can be folded for storage and transport in the included carrying bag.
Maintenance Features:
- General Care: Examine the product frequently for damaged, missing, or loose parts. DO NOT use if any parts are missing, damaged, or broken. Contact Kids II for replacement parts and instructions if needed; never substitute parts. Check for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges before assembly and periodically during use.
- Cleaning:
- Bassinet: Remove from the frame. Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle. Air dry flat. No bleach. Spot clean with a soft, clean cloth and mild soap.
- Mattress and Changing Table: Remove structural boards. Fasten all hook-and-loop tabs and buckles. Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle. Air dry flat. No bleach. Spot clean with a soft, clean cloth and mild soap.
- Carrying Bag: Machine wash in cold water on a delicate cycle. Air dry. No bleach. Spot clean with a soft, clean cloth and mild soap.
- Dream Centre™: Remove from the frame. Remove structural boards. Fasten buckles. Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle. Air dry flat. No bleach. Spot clean with a soft, clean cloth and mild soap.
- Removing Washable Fabrics: Instructions are provided for removing fabrics from the mattress, changing table, and Dream Centre™ for cleaning. This involves detaching structural boards, unzipping, and unbuckling components.
