6.1.6 Port Mirroring
Port mirroring is used on a network switch to send a copy of network packets seen on one switch
port (or an entire VLAN) to a network monitoring connection on another switch port.
Network engineers or administrators use port mirroring to analyze and debug data or diagnose
errors on a network. It helps the administrator keep a close eye on network performance and will
alert them when problems occur. It can be used to mirror either inbound or outbound traffic (or both)
on single or multiple interfaces.

6.2 RSTP
The main role of the RSTP (rapid spanning tree protocol) contains two aspects: on the one hand, it’s
used for preventing the broadcast storming, it’s that means, blocking the redundancy ink which is
elected by STP algorithm in order to eliminate redundant network paths that may exist in loop; on
the other hand, it’s used for link backup, we make the network includes a redundant path, and that
link should be blocked according to the RSTP protocol; when one path of the network has been
failed, the backup link could be activated immediately, that mechanism ensures the high availability
of the network.
