GENERAL INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
It is normal for black carbon particles to appear on the outside of your
lter. This happens when the lter is moved during shipping. It is safe,
simply wipe it o.
The lter connectors are large to prevent leaks. You might have
to twist the lter hard to make sure the connection is secure.
INSTALLING YOUR WATER FILTER
To drink the freshest and cleanest water from your refrigerator, change
the lter every six months or when the icon starts blinking.
1 Shut o the water supply, then turn o the water shuto valve on
your refrigerator.
2 Turn the old water lter about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, then pull
the lter out of the lter holder. Depending on water impurities, you
may have to pull hard to remove the lter.
Note: When you pull out the water lter, a little water may leak from the
opening. This is normal. To minimize the water leakage, keep the lter
horizontal when you pull it out.
3 Pull out the water lter tray, then empty the tray. Dry around the lter
opening with a dry cloth, then put the tray back in.
4 Insert the new water lter into the water lter holder.
5 While turning the new lter clockwise, push it all the way into the
holder until it locks into place.
6 Turn on the shuto valve and the water supply, then run water
through the dispenser until the water runs clear (about ve minutes).
This cleans the water supply system and removes any trapped air.
7 Open the refrigerator door and make sure that no water leaks from
the water lter.
Note: If leaks occur, repeat the installation steps. If leaks persist, discontinue
use and call customer service.
8 After you install the new lter, press and hold both the On/O and
Super Freeze buttons for about three seconds to turn o the icon.
Before using your new product, please read these instructions to prevent any damage.

SOLUTION
Make sure that you soak your lter in water for 15 minutes before installing.
Make sure that the lter is securely connected to the lter holder. Do not use
tools to tighten the lter in place.
Make sure that the water line to the refrigerator is turned on. The valve must
be completely open for the refrigerator to receive water.
Make sure that the refrigerator door is closed or the dispenser will not work.
A few drops are normal. If the water is dripping constantly, have a service
technician check your refrigerator’s water valve.
Cloudy water is caused by microscopic air bubbles. Run two to three gallons
of water from your dispenser to clear the air bubbles out.
Black carbon particles in the water are normal and appear with all carbon
lters. Run two to three gallons of water through your dispenser to remove
loose carbon particles.
Make sure that you soak your lter in water for 15 minutes before installing.
Noises and sputtering are caused by trapped air pockets. Run two to three
gallons of water from your dispenser to push the air out.
If you do not use your water dispenser for more than four days, run two
gallons of water through the dispenser before using it.
Make sure that you replace your lter every six months to prevent bacteria
growth.

Its primary function is to provide fresh, clear, and better-tasting drinking water by reducing various contaminants.

Function Description:

This water filter is NSF 53 certified, meaning it has been independently tested and verified to reduce a range of contaminants. These include chlorine (for improved taste and odor), asbestos, cysts, lead, mercury, o-dichlorobenzene, carbofuran, benzene, atrazine, and toxaphene. While removing these harmful substances, the filter is designed to keep beneficial minerals that are good for health. It also helps eliminate cloudiness in drinking water. The filter operates on a chemical/mechanical reduction principle.

Important Technical Specifications:

Usage Features:

The filter is designed for easy installation and replacement.

  • Installation Process:
    1. Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator.
    2. Turn the old filter 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and pull it out. Note that some water leakage is normal; keep the filter horizontal to minimize it.
    3. Pull out and empty the water filter tray, then dry the opening and replace the tray.
    4. Insert the new filter into the holder.
    5. Push the new filter all the way in while turning it clockwise until it locks.
    6. Turn on the water supply and run water through the dispenser for about five minutes until it runs clear. This flushes the system and removes trapped air.
    7. Check for leaks. If leaks persist, repeat installation or contact customer service.
    8. After installation, press and hold both the On/Off and Super Freeze buttons for about three seconds to turn off the filter indicator icon on your refrigerator.
  • Operating Notices:
    • Do not use with microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection.
    • Systems certified for cyst reduction can be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts.
    • For cold water only.
    • Actual performance may vary based on water impurities and operating conditions.
    • Ensure compliance with state and local laws and regulations.
    • Install and operate according to manufacturer's guidelines.
    • Spent adsorption media will not be regenerated or reused.

Maintenance Features:

  • Replacement Schedule: The filter should be replaced every six months or when the filter indicator icon on the refrigerator starts blinking, whichever comes first. This prevents bacteria and fungus growth.
  • Flushing for Optimal Taste: If the water dispenser has not been used for more than four days, run two gallons of water through it before use to prevent bad-tasting water.
  • Storage: Unused filters do not expire and should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place until needed.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • No water dispensing: Ensure the filter is securely connected, the water line is on, and the refrigerator door is closed. Soaking the filter in water for 15 minutes before installation can also help.
    • Dripping dispenser: A few drops are normal. Constant dripping may indicate a faulty water valve requiring service.
    • Cloudy water/black particles: Cloudy water is due to air bubbles; run 2-3 gallons to clear. Black carbon particles are normal with all carbon filters; run 2-3 gallons to flush them out.
    • Noises/sputtering: Caused by trapped air pockets; run 2-3 gallons to push air out. Soaking the filter for 15 minutes before installation can help.
    • Bad-tasting water: Replace the filter every six months and flush two gallons if not used for more than four days.
