Information for visiting a workshop,
repairs, maintenance and service
In the case of seat failure or defective parts, an autho-
rized workshop must be visited immediately so that the
seat can be repaired or exchanged.
● All seat functions have to be checked routinely,
according to the appropriate maintenance intervals
of the vehicle. All control elements and side covers
must be checked for tightly xation and control ele-
ments must have a correct function.
● Seat anchorages and fasteners, like screws, have
to be checked routinely for proper tightness.
● Locking mechanisms of horizontal slides, backrest
recliner, swivel, tilt and seat cushion adjustment
must be checked frequently for tightness as well,
and to ensure that complete locking occurs in all
positions.
● Inappropriate repairs or services can increase the
risk of damaging the seat and the risk of injury.
Therefore, modications to the seat are not allowed.
● Only original spare parts can be used.
● In case of a vehicle accident, the seat must be com-
pletely replaced.
● Welding of broken steel parts is not permitted.
● For running surfaces of the rollers no servicing is
required. Rollers must not be oiled or greased.
Care guidelines
●
Since dirt can cause seat malfunctions, the seat
must be cleaned routinely to ensure a long lifetime.
● Upholstery shall be vacuum cleaned.
● When cleaning the seat use a slightly damp cloth,
without any strong cleaning products, for they could
damage the seat. Before using any type of cleaning
product, make sure to test it on a small patch that is
not visible.
● Never soak the seat or use a water hose when
cleaning. Liquid on or inside the seat can cause
damage.
Basic Instructions for safety belts
●
A defective safety belt must be exchanged immedi-
ately and is not allowed to be repaired or manipula-
ted. A belt/webbing shall be regarded as defective in
case of
- rips, rubbing spots, kinks, squeezed or frayed
areas,
- or if the belt/webbing is not tight enough to the body
due to bad retraction,
- or if the belt tongue doesn‘t engage properly and
audibly in the belt buckle,
- or if ttings and plastic covers are damaged or
cracked.
The belt is not defective when the belt rolls up appa-
rently too slow.
● The belt must be checked regularly to realize de-
fects in time.
● Frayed or ripped belts, defective retractors or
buckles and damaged belt seams of connections to
xing plates can lead to heavy injuries in case with
an accident.
● Make sure to always use your seat belt correctly for
the whole duration of your drive. If you don´t fasten
your safety belt or if you don´t fasten it correctly, the
risc of heavy injuries increases.
● Correctly fastened seat belts may reduce the seve-
rity of injuries in case of accidents, hurling or hard
breaking.
● Never belt in more than one person per seat belt.
Do not fasten anything else on the passenger seat
than the person sitting there on or an accredited
and suitable child seat.
● Voluminous and loose clothing retards a correct
running of the belt and by that an optimal function.
● Don‘t twist the seat belt when fastening. Never
change the belt´s path by mounting belt strap
clamps, belt stop knobs or the like.
● Don´t lead the belt strap in a way that it runs over
breakable objects like mobile phones or glasses
because this can cause injuries to your body or
damages to the objects.
● Don´t clamp the belt strap. The leading of the belt
strap is all- important for an optimal protective effect
of safety belts.
● The belt webbing must be maintained always clean
because dirt reduces the retraction function.
