General Description
Turbocharger
Major turbocharger components are the center housing
and rotating assembly (CHRA), the compressor
housing, and the turbine housing.
Rotating parts are supported by the center housing and
include the turbine shaft, the compressor wheel, the
shaft bearings, the thrust bearings, and the oil seal ring.
Turbocharger rotating parts operate at very high speeds
and temperatures. The parts are built from carefully
selected materials and machined to extremely high
precision.
The turbocharger improves air intake efficiency resulting
in increased engine power, reduced fuel consumption,
and low engine noise.
