Wastegasexhaustcontrolsystem
Wastegasexhaustsystem
Yourvehicleisprovidedwiththe
wastegasexhaustsystem,andhas
metthewastegasemissionlimit
specifiedbythestate.Thereare
threetypesofwastegasexhaust
controlsystems.
(1)crankshaftcaseemissioncontrol
system
(2) evaporation emission control
system
(3)exhaustemissioncontrolsystem
Toensureeffectivefunctioningofthe
wastegasexhaustsystem,itisrec
ommendedtohavetheauthorized
JACdealerinspectandmaintainthe
vehicleaccordingtothemaintenance
scheduleinthismanual.
1.Crankshaftcaseemissioncontrol
system
The forced ventilation system of
crankshaftcasecanpreventairpol
lutionbythemixedgasescaped
fromthecrankshaftcase.Thissys
temsuppliesfilteredfreshairtothe
crankshaftcase.Inthecrankshaft
case,thefreshairismixedwiththe
escapedairfromothercylinderand
thenthismixedgasenterstheairin
takesystemviathePCVvalve.
2.Evaporationemissioncontrolsys
tem
Theevaporationemissioncontrolsys
temisdesignedtopreventlossof
fuelvapor.
3.Exhaustemissioncontrolsystem
Theexhaustemissioncontrolsystem
isahighefficiencysystem,andcan
controlthewastegasemissionand
hasthefunctionofmaintainingthe
vehicle.
Charcoalcanister
Whentheengineisnotworking,the
fuelvaporproducedinthefueltank
isabsorbedandstoredinthechar
coalcanister.Whentheengineisop
erating,thefuelvaporinthecharcoal
canisterispumpedintotheairintake
system via the purifying control
solenoidvalve.
Purifyingcontrolsolenoidvalve
TheECMcontrolsthepurifyingcon
trolsolenoidvalve;whenthetemper
atureofenginecoolingliquidislow
andtheengineisinidling,thevalve
closes,sothatthevaporizedfuel
cannotenterthecharcoalcanister.

Whentheenginegetshotinnormal
driving,thevalveopensandadmits
thevaporizedfuelintothecharcoal
canister.
EGRsystem(ifinstalled)
ThissystemcontrolstheNOxbyway
ofcirculatedexhaust,tolowerthe
combustiontemperatureofthecylin
der.
Three-waycatalyticconverters
AllJACvehiclesareprovidedwithin
tegratedthree-waycatalyticconvert
ers,toreducethecarbonmonoxide,
hydrocarboncompoundsandnitric
oxygen. The waste gas flowing
throughtheconvertercankeepthe
device at maximum temperature.
Whengasolinehavingnotcompletely
burntenterstheexhaustsystem,the
converterwilloverheatanditmay
leadtoburningthevehicle.
Caution:
Itispossibletoavoiddanger
byobservingthefollowing.
Warning:
Lead-free gasoline (over
93#)mustbeused.
Takecareoftheengineso
thatitkeepsgoodfunctions.The
causeofexcessivelyhighcon
vertertemperatureispoorfunc
tioningofelectricalandignition
systemsorimproperoffuelin
jection.
Incaseofenginestall,slight
knocking,knockingduringop
erationofdifficultstarting,have
theenginecheckedorrepaired
bytheJACdealer,oritwillren
dertheengineunabletowork
normallyandwilldamagethe
converter.
Avoiddrivingthevehiclewith
lowfuelorstartingtheengine
withoutgasoline.Otherwisethe
engine cannot work normally
andtheconverterwillbedam
aged.
Theidlingtimeoftheengine
mustnotexceed10min.
Donottrytostarttheengine
bypullingorpushingthevehi
cle.Thismayoverheatthecon
verterandresultinburning.
