Wastegasexhaustsystem
Yourvehicleisprovidedwiththe
wastegasexhaustsystem,andhas
metthewastegasemissionlimit
specifiedbythestate.Thereare
threetypesofwastegasexhaust
controlsystems.
(1)crankshaftcaseemissioncontrol
system
(2) evaporation emission control
system
(3)exhaustemissioncontrolsystem
Toensureeffectivefunctioningofthe
wastegasexhaustsystem,itisrec鄄
ommendedtohavetheauthorized
JACdealerinspectandmaintainthe
vehicleaccordingtothemaintenance
scheduleinthismanual.
1.Crankshaftcaseemissioncontrol
system
The forced ventilation system of
crankshaftcasecanpreventairpol鄄
lutionbythemixedgasescaped
fromthecrankshaftcase.Thissys鄄
temsuppliesfilteredfreshairtothe
crankshaftcase.Inthecrankshaft
case,thefreshairismixedwiththe
escapedairfromothercylinderand
thenthismixedgasenterstheairin鄄
takesystemviathePCVvalve.
2.Evaporationemissioncontrolsys鄄
tem
Theevaporationemissioncontrolsys鄄
temisdesignedtopreventlossof
fuelvapor.
3.Exhaustemissioncontrolsystem
Theexhaustemissioncontrolsystem
isahighefficiencysystem,andcan
controlthewastegasemissionand
hasthefunctionofmaintainingthe
vehicle.
Charcoalcanister
Whentheengineisnotworking,the
fuelvaporproducedinthefueltank
isabsorbedandstoredinthechar鄄
coalcanister.Whentheengineisop鄄
erating,thefuelvaporinthecharcoal
canisterispumpedintotheairintake
system via the purifying control
solenoidvalve.
Purifyingcontrolsolenoidvalve
TheECMcontrolsthepurifyingcon鄄
trolsolenoidvalve;whenthetemper鄄
atureofenginecoolingliquidislow
andtheengineisinidling,thevalve
closes,sothatthevaporizedfuel
cannotenterthecharcoalcanister.

Whentheenginegetshotinnormal
driving,thevalveopensandadmits
thevaporizedfuelintothecharcoal
canister.
EGRsystem(ifinstalled)
ThissystemcontrolstheNOxbyway
ofcirculatedexhaust,tolowerthe
combustiontemperatureofthecylin鄄
der.
Three-waycatalyticconverters
AllJACvehiclesareprovidedwithin鄄
tegratedthree-waycatalyticconvert鄄
ers,toreducethecarbonmonoxide,
hydrocarboncompoundsandnitric
oxygen. The waste gas flowing
throughtheconvertercankeepthe
device at maximum temperature.
Whengasolinehavingnotcompletely
burntenterstheexhaustsystem,the
converterwilloverheatanditmay
leadtoburningthevehicle.
Caution:
音 Itispossibletoavoiddanger
byobservingthefollowing.
Warning:
音 Lead-free gasoline (over
93#)mustbeused.
音 Takecareoftheengineso
thatitkeepsgoodfunctions.The
causeofexcessivelyhighcon鄄
vertertemperatureispoorfunc鄄
tioningofelectricalandignition
systemsorimproperoffuelin鄄
jection.
音 Incaseofenginestall,slight
knocking,knockingduringop鄄
erationofdifficultstarting,have
theenginecheckedorrepaired
bytheJACdealer,oritwillren鄄
dertheengineunabletowork
normallyandwilldamagethe
converter.
音 Avoiddrivingthevehiclewith
lowfuelorstartingtheengine
withoutgasoline.Otherwisethe
engine cannot work normally
andtheconverterwillbedam鄄
aged.
音 Theidlingtimeoftheengine
mustnotexceed10min.
音 Donottrytostarttheengine
bypullingorpushingthevehi鄄
cle.Thismayoverheatthecon鄄
verterandresultinburning.
