OPERATION - TIG
Before starng any welding acvity ensure that you have suitable eye protecon and
protecve clothing. Also take the necessary steps to protect any persons within the welding
area.
TIG operaon steps
HF and Li TIG mode
The TIG 300P features HF arc ignion which is available in TIG 2T, 4T,
Cycle and Spot modes.
The 300P is also equipped with li arc ignion, which is another form
or arc starng the welding arc by allowing the tungsten to touch
(short circuits) to the work piece with current being kept at a small
level and then liing the tungsten o the work piece to create arc
ignion.
The biggest advantage of this arc starng method is to avoid HF interference and lower work
pieces tungsten polluon, but when compared with HF arc ignion it oers a lower
successful rate. If unnecessary, please take HF arc ignion as your rst choice.
Arc ignion type selecon.
Press the HF switch unl the HF ignion LED indicator is ON to enter TIG HF TIG arc ignion funcon.

When in HF TIG mode (2T)
Keep the torch tungsten 2-4mm away from the work piece and then press and hold the torch trigger.
Gas will ow followed by the high frequency (HF) and the arc is ignited. Once the arc is ignited the HF will
cease and the current rises up to the preset values set by the user and welding is then carried out.
Aer releasing the torch trigger, the current begins to decrease automacally to the nal (crater) current
value. The welding arc will then stop with gas sll owing unl the gas post ow me ends and welding is
nished.
When in li TIG mode (2T)
In this mode, place the torch tungsten in contact with the work piece and then press and hold the torch
trigger. Gas will ow and then you can li the tungsten slowly away from the work piece to iniate the
welding arc and the current rises up to the preset values set by the user and welding is then carried out.
