4.1 Final Check
1) Reboot the RCU.
2) Open the SYSTEM screen of Maintenance software and start the
diagnostic function.
3) Check that the all Diagnosis and Entry lamp are displayed as GREEN.
4.2 Back up the Installation result report
Backup the report data in the following procedure and transmit it to JRC.
1) Click the [Report] button.
Folder named VDR report is saved automatically on the desktop of
maintenance PC by the Maintenance software.
2) Compress the VDR report folder with all files in this folder.
3) Upload those files to the “Ship list” on the Marine service WEB.
4.3 A check of spare parts
Spare parts are checked.
1) Check that all spare parts are complete.
4.4 Notes at the time of the handling explanation to a Captain
Following items is explained to a Captain
1) When an accident occurs, store the record data in the capsule.
2) When the Echo Sounder, Speed Log and Autopilot are power off, VDR
generate sensor data error, but this operation is normal, VDR is not failure.
3) When NSK I/F Unit is connected to Gyro, a heading setting alarm occurs
at the time of VDR reboot. This operation is normal VDR is not failure.
4) Don’t use the Playback Software for marine accident investigator.
