24.1.2 Possible faults on digital JUMO ecoLine and tecLine sensors
Fault symptom Possible cause Remedy
A sensor is not detected af-
ter being connected and is
also not visible for manual
linking (cf. Chapter "Sub-
menu for linking", page 97).
The serial interface of the device
concerned is configured incorrect-
ly.
Check the following serial inter-
face setting:
Protocol:
Modbus digital sensors
Baud rate
• with JUMO ecoLine sensors:
9600
• only JUMO tecLine sensors
and sensors with JUMO dig-
iLine electronics: 9600, 19200
or 38400
Data format
• with JUMO ecoLine sensors:
8 - 1 - no parity
• only JUMO tecLine sensors
and sensors with JUMO dig-
iLine electronics:
8-1-no parity
8 - 1 - odd parity
8-1-even parity
Two or more sensors of the same
kind were connected.
Follow the instructions in the oper-
ating manual for startup of digital
sensors.
Digital JUMO ecoLine and tecLine
sensors must be put into opera-
tion individually.

Several digital JUMO ecoLine or
tecLine were connected to the
same device address, causing
collisions during bus communica-
tion.
More than 6 digital sensors were
connected.
Ensure that no more than 6 digital
sensors are connected to a JUMO
AQUIS touch P.
see previous page The voltage supply for powering
the sensor electronics is inade-
quate.
Ensure compliance with the spec-
ifications in the tables for planning
the cabling for digital sensors.
