6.4 Opening the engine cover
NOTE
Opening the engine cover
XThe engine panel can be locked in the
50° and 70° positions. The 50° position
is locked by gas pressure spring (195)
while the 70° position is locked by gas
pressure spring (196).
Open the engine cover (11) as far as the 50°
stage.
Requirements
– The engine cover is unlocked, (see
"Unlocking the engine bonnet" on page 152).
Procedure
• Pull the engine cover up by the handle (194) and engage it in the lock (197) of the
gas pressure spring (195).
The engine cover opens in the first stage.
Open the engine cover (11) as far as the
70° stage.
Requirements
– The engine cover is unlocked, (see
"Unlocking the engine bonnet" on
page 152).
Procedure
• Fold the backrest down.
• Move the armrest down, to do this pull the
locking lever (198).
• Push the driver’s seat forward.
• Push the lock (197) of the gas pressure
spring (195) and unlock it.
• Pull the engine cover further up and engage
it in the lock (197) of the gas pressure spring (196).
The engine cover is now open.
