SIB Slots
Each PTX5000 Packet Transport Switch contains nine SIBs located at the center rear
of the chassis in the slots labeled SIB0 through SIB8 (top to bottom). SIBs are
hot-insertable and hot-removable.
SIB Function
SIBs create the switch fabric for the packet transport switch.
Supported SIBs
The packet transport switch supports SIB-I-PTX5008.
SIB Components
Figure 27 on page 48 shows a SIB. Each SIB weighs 6 lb (2.7 kg).
