4 Permanent settings in programming mode
T Press the ‘Set consistency of grind’ button.

T Press the ‘Right grinder’ button.

T Press the ‘+’ or ‘ –’ button to change the setting for the con-
sistency of grind.

‘Save’ button.
‘Saved’ appears briefly on the display.

In the programme item ‘Machine settings (3/5)’/ ‘Maintenance set-
tings’
you can make the following settings:

‘Filter’
U
Choose whether to operate your GIGA with or without an
external filter cartridge or change the filter capacity.
U
‘Water hardness’
U
If you do not have a filter cartridge, you will need to set the
water hardness (see Chapter 4 ‘Permanent settings in pro-
gramming mode – Setting the water hardness’).
U
‘Switch-on rinse’/ ‘Manual’
U
The switch-on rinse must be started manually.
U
‘Switch-on rinse’/ ‘Automatic’
U
The switch-on rinse is started automatically.
U
‘Rinse the milk system’/ ‘Manual after 10min.’
U
You are prompted to rinse the milk system 10minutes after
preparation of a speciality coffee with milk.
U
‘Rinse the milk system’/ ‘Manual immediate’
U
You are prompted to rinse the milk system immediately
after preparation of a speciality coffee with milk.
U
‘Rinse the milk system’/ ‘Automatic after 10min.’
U
Milk system rinsing is automatically initiated 10 minutes
after preparation of a speciality coffee with milk.
U
‘Rinse the milk system’/ ‘Automatic immediate’
U
Milk system rinsing is automatically initiated approx. 30 sec-
onds after preparation of a speciality coffee with milk.
